Gabriel Jesus is on Arsenal’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window and some supporters have a brilliant theory that the striker has dropped a hint over his next move.
Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal is a transfer rumour that has gathered momentum over the past week as plans begin to take shape ahead of what is expected to be an extremely busy summer window.
Signing a forward – or two – will be Gunners manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu’s top priority this summer, which will serve as no surprise to supporters given Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are likely to depart when their contracts expire at the end of June.
As a result, a host of strikers have been linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium including Darwin Nunez, Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Victor Osimhen, Patrik Schick, Tammy Abraham and Jonathan David. Although, it would appear that Jesus is the number one target for Arsenal at this point.
Having scored five goals in the two games – four against Watford and one against Real Madrid – since reports of a move to the Emirates first became public knowledge, the north London outfit may have to increase their opening offer when it comes time for negotiations.
That is the general feeling amongst some Arsenal supporters on Reddit. However, others on Twitter have come up with a brilliant theory that Jesus’ recent celebration – which is identical to Nketiah’s as they both perform the ‘telephone’ goal celebration after finding the back of the net – is hinting that he will be joining the club this summer.
Of course, Jesus’ celebration had nothing to do with links to Arsenal as he has been celebrating his goals for club and country this way since 2017 and has even revealed the story behind it is that he is pretending to ring his mother. “It was a joke with my friends, a ‘Hello, mother’,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News. “My friends know why. My mother knows too. It was a celebration for them.
