Arsenal are considering whether to bid for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta wants a new midfielder by the end of January transfer window. With the bid for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo at an impasse, the Gunners are seriously considering a move for Jorginho.

The Italian national is in the final six months of his contract with Chelsea, newshawkng.com learns. And the Blues are already seeking his replacement with the acquisition of Enzo Fernandez.

According to Skysports.com, Mikel Arteta is looking for player who are fit and ready to go straight off in the Premier League and Jorginho fits that bill.

With a restart of proceeding in Europe, Arsenal is also looking to strengthen the depth of their squad.

“Moises Caicedo is the man who is been attracting a lot of attention from Chelsea and Arsenal, who have made two bids. Brighton are saying he’s not for sale,” says Skysports Gail Davis.

Arteta tried to sign Jorginho in summer of 2020. That year the midfielder won the Champions League and European Championship.

Arsenal recruiting had been focused on long term investments but right now with the burden of playing four days a week, Arteta will be hoping for the benefit of an experienced and solid squad.
