GIANLUIGI BUFFON was urged to retire after a SHOCKING error cost his Parma team a goal in Italy’s second tier.
The legendary keeper, 44, had already seen a penalty fired past him moments earlier when he suffered a nightmare moment in the seventh minute of their match against Perugia.
Buffon received a back-pass from Jayden Oosterwolde when there didn’t appear to be any serious pressure on the Italian shot-stopper.
But when trying to move the ball onto Enrico Del Prato, the keeper produced an embarrassing air kick which Perugia striker Marco Olivieri pounced on.
Buffon attempted to make amends by chasing the ball down but there was nothing he could do to stop Olivieri from tapping home to double the home side’s lead.
